2013 CID Newsletters

From the Kentucky Center for School Safety web site: In 2001, the Commonwealth began an initiative to promote safe and supportive learning environments for Kentucky students and staff by launching the Kentucky Instructional Discipline and Support (K.I.D.S.) Project. The Kentucky Department of Education then expanded that program and created the Kentucky Center for Instructional Discipline (KYCID) – a statewide center dedicated to helping schools establish a culture and climate in which all students can be successful.

The CID News Letters presented here are part of this program. While the program may have been in place prior to the fall of 2012, the News Letter begin in September. Edited by Assistant Principal, Kent Green, they are top down communications from the High School administration to students, faculty and parents. Basically a report card on how well everyone is behaving.

The good news, and specifically why we are archiving them, is that these news letter are actually "newsy." They present a better view of student activities than the NewsFlash and running a close second to the year book, and that doesn't even consider all the interesting stats.

We have to wonder, what the administrative predicessors such as E.S. Sherron, J.D. Dixon, Miles Meredith, Hutson, Maddox, Lynch, John Robinson and Glenn Earl Dexter might have to say about CID.
