Oak-K Newspapers from the 1979-1980 School Year may be found via the menu to the right all presented in PDF format for viewing or download. We are fortunate to have all nine issues published for this school year, thanks to the LOHS Journalism Department.

Once again, the Oak-K maintained the Blue Banner Award for excellence from the Southern Illinois School Press Association for another school year. And again you can see why as you read through the various issues. We see memories of class mates and events through the yearbook. We get news from the Oak-K of sports events, musical events, community events, student achivements and faculty involvement. We also get a read of the politics of the time, attitudes and cultural changes. Quite a bit for one small publication.
