Class of 1996

Class of 1996

Wallace Adams continued as Principal with Buddy Rushing as assistant for this school year. For an interesting biography of Principal Adams, read the October 1995 Oak-K. The 214 seniors of the Class of 1996 were the biggest class LOHS had graduated in years, and the classes to follow were almost as plentiful. Construction on the new high school began mid-year with renovations of the arts and science building followed by construction on the main building in March. Needless to say it was a big mess. The final pages of the 1996 Annual show the work beginning.

If you are familiar with the area around the high school, you will recognize the surroundings for the 1996 Class Photo. Behind them is the then Lone Oak Middle School, with the Agriculture Greenhouse on the right where Johnson's Grocery used to be. Underneath them is the last vestiges of vegetation north of the gynmasium. Within the next year, that will be planted in asphalt and concrete.
