This site presents the information we have for the LOHS Class of 97. For 1997, we have the yearbook and all nine Oak-K newsletters published during the year.

Wallace Adams continued as Principal with Buddy Rushing as assistant for the 1996-1997 school year graduating another record class of 225 seniors. Construction, or destruction as some would say, on the new high school was well underway and unfortunately underfoot for most of the year. Stories and pictures in the annual and newspaper chonicle the interesting year endured by the Class of 97.

The image above may be a little ahead of 1997, but it the result of the ongoing construction and is the school as it existed from this point forward.

The Oak-K is always an interesting read when it comes to the politics of the times. An example in point may be found in the February Oak-K issue pretaining to a subject called "consolidation." So many times, change the names and the dates and you are reading today's news.
