Oak-K Newspapers from the 1978-1979 School Year may be found via the menu to the right all presented in PDF format for viewing or download. Nine issues were published for this school year and we are lucky to have all nine, thanks to the LOHS Journalism Department.

This year, the Oak-K maintained the Blue Banner Award for excellence from the Southern Illinois School Press Association. You only have to read one issue to see why, excellent writing, a wide variety of subjects, good use of photography, layout, etc.. This year also continues with the heavier paper which allows a cleaner print and better layout.
