1971 Newspapers

Oak-K Newspapers from the 1970-1971 School Year may be found via the menu to the right all presented in PDF format for viewing or download.

As best we can tell from the issue numbers and dates there were seven issues for this school year. There is no publisher's block this year so we don't have exact info on total or frequency. But, thanks to David LeDoux '72, we now have all seven with six coming from the LOHS Journalism Department archives. Volume 29 is shown correctly as the 29th year of publication.

The format continues on news print and we can tell the Oak-K staff is having fun. The layout process is the old fashioned style of "cut and paste" and in some ways kinda like making a ransom letter from the movies. Unfortunately, at some point in the process it must have been cut and paste on jello because columns aren't lined up, boxes are round and margins are all over the page - surely this is resulting from the printing process. Still very readable and informational.
