About This Site
No high school annual was produced for 1954 or following years until 1964. Instead smaller publications which spotlighted the senior class and were called "Senior Spotlights". Under the guidance of continuing principal John Robinson, 1954 saw many changes at LOHS, including the construction of a large gymnasium, renovation of the cafeteria and the start of other renovations. All part of a massive county wide construction project necessary to keep up with the greatly expanding population. The Atomic Energy Commission plant being built on the old KOW site had brought thousands into the area for the construction phase and opening in 1954. The area economy was booming to support that influx and that included the school system. LOHS was growing.
