Tommy Stephenson continued as Principal and Wallace Adams as Assistant for the school year 1981-82, instilling what some have called a sense of normalcy to the school from what was outside the bubble; a memorably chaotic time.

Found in the December 17, 1981 edition of the Oak-K Newspaper, is an interesting article by senior and Oak-K Editor Jeff Abel presenting an encompassing perspective on the time. Many generations have met similar troublesome times and the 80s belonged to this generation. While the intent of this site is to preserve the memories of the past, we should also note that several decades hence we are still here... and that the stories are pretty much the same, only the names have changed.

All in all though, it was a good year. The 212 graduates of the Class of 82 were fortunate to have missed the confusion and mess of fires, construction and renovations and enjoyed the new facilities for all four of their high school years. From the Oak-Ks and the 1982 Oak Leaves yearbook, it was obviously an exciting time of activites and achievements.

For 1982, we have the yearbook and many of the Oak-K newsletters. All very memorable trips through history. We hope to build on the collection for 1982, but hope you enjoy what we have.
