About This Site
The Class of 1980 graduated over 200 seniors. Entering the county elementary schools in the fall of 1968, they missed the fire, most of the construction and came from Lone Oak Middle School in 1976 to spend all four years at the high school. Compared to many, school year 1979-80 was uneventful, or should we say untraumatic - reading the Oak-Ks and the Oak Leaves annual, it was most certainly full of events and successes.
One of the more remarkable events was the return of Tommy Stephenson, this time as principal. Mr Stephenson grew up in Lone Oak, graduating with the Class of 52, returning in the fall of 1956 as PE teacher and later as Asst Coach. In the fall of 1966, he was named principal of the new Lone Oak Upper Elementary - Lone Oak Middle School. Many of the LOHS student were familiar with Mr Stephenson, including the Class of 80.
For 1980, we have the yearbook and all of the Oak-K newsletters. We hope to build on the collection for 1980, but hope you enjoy what we have. If you have addition information that is applicable to the Class of 80, please e-mail the site Webmaster. Please provide contact information so that we may reply.
