Class of 66 - 55th Anniversary Reunion 2021

Rolling Hills Country Club

Following our biggest reunion ever, the 50th - and after enduring the 2020-2021 pandemic years, we endeavored to return to "normal" and a simple, happy reunion. We decided on a location we knew well in what may be defined as a DIY social. Even though some classmates declined due to continued Covid concerns and… well, let's face it; we are getting older and health isn't as good as it once was, we still had a good turnout. Some classmates traveled significant distances just for a two-day event. The result was yet another wonderful gathering of old friends and a celebration of memories.

Many thanks to the Reunion Committee; Diana, David, Maxine, Rick and Steve, our host and MC, for months of planning, hard work, and a great show. And thanks to those who helped in many ways from phone calls, letter writing, decorations, greeters, performers and photographers - whom we won't list for fear of missing someone. A reunion takes many talented people to become the perfect party, and that is half the fun.

Strickland Seafood Resturant

Friday, September 24th, began with golfing in beautiful weather for the die-hard golfers among us. Friday evening was a social "Meet and Greet" at one of our favorite lunch-bunch eateries; Strickland's Seafood.

Saturday, September 25th, classmates, spouses and guests met at Rolling Hills Country Club for a catered dinner, program and catching up. While we were prepared to go into the wee hours with music and dancing, one of the most striking things for our 55th was that by 10pm, everyone was gone and cleanup was complete - sadly, we are getting older. While we didn't party the night away, everyone seemed to enjoy sharing memories and reconnecting with friends.

The picture above, taken in the same context as our 45th, is a Photoshopped rendering of the best image taking by our very own photographers, Larry and Cheryl Heavrin. The originals images may be found on the Saturday night selection from the menu above. In addition, we selected the best of many other contributed images from the weekend events, which are available for viewing and download from the menus above. Larger images from each collection may be viewed individually or as a slide show simply by clicking on any thumbnail image. You may download or save the larger image by right clicking at the center of the image and selecting "Save Image As...". Many thanks to those who contributed to this collection.

After discussion among the planners and others, there is consideration, in the future, to forgo the larger, once every five years event for a smaller annual "dutch-treat" event such as a one-night social gathering at a local restaurant. If you have comments or suggestions, please e-mail us at 1966@LoneOakAlumni.Org. Of course, all classmates are invited to join the "Lunch Bunch" at our monthly luncheon. You can find out where we will be next month on our home page.
