Class of 66 - 35yr Reunion 2001

We survived the Y2K scares and shortly after the start of a millennia got the announcement from our reunion planners to reserve the dates in the summer of 2001 for our 35th Class of 66 Reunion. Computers and the Internet were now as normal as TVs were in our youth and almost everyone had e-mail. Whether they ever read it or not was another thing, but it did help in keeping in touch with old friends. Our Class "Room Mother" Bonnie was very good at keeping everyone informed of news and events for the class and among our class mates.

Unfortunately not all were happy events. Over the past several years, five classmates had died; Ricky Meeks, Russell Joyce, Molly Stom Sullenger, Ann Dunbar Meehan and Jerry West were added to our "Remembrance" list for a total of seven in 2001.

The reunion group had planned another great weekend, with an added event for all the golf players in the class. Friday afternoon, a golf outing was planned at Rolling Hills Country Club followed by snacks and hors d'oeuvres. Saturday would be a dinner also at Rolling Hills, followed by music and dance. For some reason, we seemed to be slowing down; more casual attire, less formal atmosphere. Not that we were getting older or anything.

When the picture was made, it was difficult for the photographer to get the right lighting and Phyllis Ross got lost in the shadows on the final print. Thanks to some additional shots taken by Jean Marie's husband Jim we were able to add Phyllis back into the picture.
