Class of 66 - 15yr Reunion 1981

At the 10-year reunion, our class voted to have a reunion every 5 years until such time as those attending decided otherwise. So once again for the summer of 1981, plans were made and invitations mailed to everyone that could be found in the Class of 66. And on June 27th and 28th of 1981, the family of the Class of 66 reunited to refresh and remember our life long friendships.

Reunion weekend 1981 started on Friday June 27th when we met for a family picnic at a pavilion in Lone Oak park. Then on Saturday June 28th, a dinner and dance at the Irving Cobb Hotel in downtown Paducah. We were a little bit fewer in numbers, but not in spirit. The distances traveled were just as amazing. A few new faces came that hadn't made the 10 year. Again many had changed, while others were easily recognized. The reunion committee had done an excellent job, including some interesting entertainment by a Mark Twain impersonator. Luckily we had lost no other classmates in the previous five years, although there were several that we could no longer locate.

We have Larry Heavrin to thank for the reunion photo above. Thanks Larry! And numerous others to thank for contributing to this collection. While cleaning out some old photo files inherited in January 2014, we found many of these original prints AND a roll of negatives. The negatives probably came from Larry Heavren who took many of the prints for this reunion. Comparing the negatives to actual prints found a few frames that we didn't have on display and updated a few other for both the picnic and the dinner.

We hope you enjoy the memories from our 15th Anniversary Reunion.
