1965 Newspapers

Oak-K Newspapers from the 1964-1965 School Year may be found via the menu to the right all presented in PDF format for viewing or download. We now have all 8 issues from the 64-65 year. Most of these issues came from a file cabinet found in the Journalism Department at the high school. And thanks to a little closet cleaning, the remainder were contributed by Brenda Straub Osborne (66).

We're not sure exactly why the volume number started over with "1" for the school year 64-65. As best we can count it should be "23" as counted from the starting year 1941. There are some changes to the format for this year but nothing so great as a name or author change to affect the volumization. Oddly enough, it returned to the original and correct sequence at the beginning of calendar year 1969. Such as it was, this minor curiosity certainly didn't affect the content or the quality of the publication.

Our appreciation to the Oak-K staff for 1965 for the excellent reporting of the events for the school year 1964-65. We hope you find glimpses of the past enjoyable.
