What’s next for tim tebow?

Tim Tebow is a household name just about anywhere you go in the U.S. When most hear the name they will probably give you a positive remark, as Tebow has always found a soft spot in our country’s heart. The man is beloved, and throughout the past 8 years has had it all. There now though is a huge problem with all his fame, he’s struggling playing football, and might not even find himself in the NFL next year. He is officially job-less, now the question lies, will he get another shot in the league? We should know that soon, whether it be a couple of weeks or months.

Tim Tebow has always had many doubters, but at the University of Florida he became one of the most successful college football players of all time. While there, he won 2 National Championships, a Heisman Trophy, and gave a speech that will live on in the history books, a speech that started the obsession of “Tebow Mania”. Tebow Mania was well deserved for Tim though, his dedication to his team and to God is something few athletes can compete with. After his 4 years of celebrity status at Florida he took his talents to the NFL, where the doubters grew. Tebow proved the haters wrong at first, in his 2nd year in the league he led his team to the playoffs, even winning a game against the Steelers in the 1st Round, a game in which he threw the game winning pass. But the tides on his career turned after that.

The Denver Broncos decided to go a different route, trading Tebow to the New York Jets. The Jets made a mockery of the Tebow situation, rarely letting him see the field, and even demoting him to 3rd string Quarterback. Recently the Jets released Tebow after just one season. Now he finds himself as a free agent, with no team seemingly even asking for his services. Canadian Football might be his only option to continue his career at the moment, if the interest in the NFL doesn’t pick up. The man who America loves and who once found himself as the most popular and best football player in college is now hurting for employment. This could be a devastating ending to this great man’s career, but it just shows you how hard and cruel sports can be, and that the spotlight will never stay on the same person forever.
