Prom is an exciting time for many of us, it’s the night where all the girls dress up in beautiful dresses, and the guys dress up in their penguin suits. All the glamour is talked about for months to come, but what isn’t talked about is the price.

    People spend massive amounts of money for this one special night but they fail to realize this very thing; it’s for one night!! Ladies, you will never wear your special dress again. And guys, those beautiful flowers you spent $80 on? They’ll be dead in a week! Granted, guys do have it easier. The girls spend a fortune on dresses, shoes, jewelry, hair, and makeup. And although it looks beautiful in pictures, and in person... all of it is probably way overpriced.

    But the question is, how do you get away from the high cost of everything? I’m still trying to figure out the answer to that myself. No matter where you look, a beautiful dress is always expensive. The one thing i can see wavering is the cost of hair and makeup, considering you can do those things yourself.

    The solution is, there is no solution. Prom is a fun, exciting, and costly experience for everyone and though you may not remember it very clearly later on in life, I’m sure your wallet will!
