The Last Dance

On average 25,000 Americans are killed and over 700,000 injured related to drug and alcohol related car wrecks.  More than fifty percent of fatal crashes involve an alcohol impaired drivers, more than sixty fiver percent of fatal car accidents are alcohol related.  About fifty percent of Americans can expect to be involved in an alcohol related car accident during their lifetime.

In 2011 9,879 people were killed in alcohol related crashes.  181 of those 9,879 were children (age 14 and younger).  Thirty eight percent of people killed in wrecks were caused by drinking and driving.  In 2010 nearly 10,000 reported road incidents were because people were over the legal limit.  This accounted for five percent of all road accidents.

With prom coming up the students in our school and all other schools need to be aware of these statistics.  Don’t be one that causes these wrecks, don’t be the stupid one.  Don’t let this be your last dance.
