Fame and fortune are two things that most people would love to have, but the people that have them both seem to not be able to handle it well. Prime example...Oscar Pistorius. This is a man that was at the highest point in his career, but the man let his emotions get the best of him and he is now at the lowest of lows.

Oscar Pistorius was born on November 22nd 1986, with a disease called fibular hermimelia. Both of his legs were amputated to just his knees at 11 months old. He lived a childhood filled with many sports, but finally found his love for running in 2004. Oscar became faster and faster from there on out. Through three Paralympic Games he had a total of six gold, one silver, and one bronze. It then was time for him to break through all of the obstacles and adversity to try and qualify for the Olympic Games. He did just that, being announced to the South African team in July 2012 to compete in the London Olympics just a few weeks after. Pistorius became one of the most well known people in the world during this time. The night of his big competition, ending in him finishing the race will go down as one of the great moments in Olympic history. Even in the months after the Olympic Games the “Blade Runner” was still getting worldwide attention, and high praises. Then the day of February 14, 2013 came...

Word spread that on the morning of February 14th that Oscar Pistorius’ girlfriend had been found dead at his home. Soon after, the “Blade Runner” himself was taken into custody on murder charges. Many rumors have came about as to what actually happened. Oscar’s lawyer has stated that the runner had thought an intruder was in the house, where Prosecutors believe it was a pre-meditated murder. Pistorius has been released on bail, but this story is far from over, his next court appearance is scheduled for June 4th. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out, what the final verdict will be, and how far this former icon’s fall from grace will go.
