Juniors Take the ACT

Well, juniors: The day that you have all been dreading since your freshmen year has come and gone. The ACT marks the end of the hardest, most challenging years of high school. Every student nation wide can take this rigorous test at any time, most take it their junior year. It’s a cumulative test that assesses your learning and knowledge to see how ready you are for college. Luckily LOHS provides a 100% free test that you can take at school, rather than having to pay for one and take it, say during the summer. Unfortunately though, people don’t necessarily take advantage of this.

Students tend to procrastinate studying for this important test until the last minute and they end up getting a bad grade (the highest possible grade is a 36). What they don’t realize, though, is if you do well the first- FREE time, you won’t have to take it again. And trust me, you want a god ACT score if you want to get into any kind of good colleges.

The ACT is also good for outweighing your GPA. Lets say you don’t do too hot with grades one semester, and your GPA suffered because of it. The higher your ACT score, the better chance you have at getting into your college of choice, even with the bad grades. So for all you freshmen and sophomores, when the time to take the ACT rolls around, I suggest you take it seriously.
