With the election season over and another term of office guaranteed you would think President Obama would be able to relax. However, with growing concerns over our deficit and debt President Obama is finding it difficult to take a break.

Specifically Congress faces the “fiscal cliff” which is a combination of expiring tax cuts and spending reductions which are set to occur at the end of the year if Congress doesn’t do something to avoid it. If Congress allows the “fiscal cliff” to occur it could have disastrous effects on our economy putting many people out of work and sending us spiraling back into another recession.

President Obama has stated that he is willing to compromise but that he will not allow unfair plans to pass through Congress. He would like to raise taxes on the wealthy and cut taxes for the middle class. Obama told his supporters earlier this month, “You voted for action, not politics as usual.”
