Lone Oak Volleyball has had yet another record breaking season. On Thursday, before their trip to state they were sent off with a special pep rally. It was in many of the students eyes one of the greatest pep rallies we have had in recent memory. This is partially because of a new and unique touch that was added to this pep rally, a volleyball tournament. Each grade level was represented by a team with the winner getting the chance to take on a faculty team in the championship.
The 1st round saw the Seniors win in dominating fashion over the Freshmen, while the Sophomores squeaked out a victory over the Juniors. The Seniors then took down the Sophomores in a close match to set up the dream matchup against the teachers. Though not the crowd favorite, the teachers pulled out a stunning victory on the last point with a clutch winner by Coach Poore.
The crowd stayed energetic all throughout the pep rally and ended it with a special send off for the girls. The Senior class formed a tunnel to the charter bus that the girls were leaving on with a drum line following the girls. It was a great atmosphere to set the tone for the start of the tournament the next day.
