Carlos Gonzalez in the first round of districts against Paducah Tilghman.
First is odd, but second is even. We’re thankin’ God for the journey and keep on believin’!
Starting off October with a tie to Murray (1-1) and a loss against Calloway (0-2), the Flash was ready to redeem themselves through the course of districts. Redemption was definitely achieved in their match against CCA. Lone Oak mercy ruled them with 10 to 0. For this last year of districts, Heath hosted the tournament. LO faced Paducah Tilghman for the first round of districts and won 3 to 0. Earlier in the season, the Flash succumbed to the Pirates (0-5 and 0-4). Though they didn’t come out on top, Lone Oak boys still displayed their improvement in their loss of 0 to 2, giving them the title of second in districts! The last Lone Oak soccer match was played Oct. 16th at Marshall against Marshall for regionals. The entire game was incredibly intense, but questionable refereeing and three minutes got the better of the Flash. The final score was 0 to 3. It was a great game to watch and hopefully resulted in zero regrets from the players. Regardless of the score, Lone Oak will always be proud of the work they put out and hopefully, in their hearts, they’re forever a flash!
