Soccer, Success, & September

Losing to Reidland (0-1) and Hopkinsville (0-3), but inning to Paducah Tilghman (2-1) and CCA (6-0) wasn’t too shabby of an ending for August.  With 9 points scored and 13 allowed in 8 games, you could say the Flash soccer boys are looking at an intense season.

The Flash started off September with a home game to rival, Heath.  Holding them 2-0 at half time, one shot being an indirect PK, taken by Hunter Cockerel of Heath, finished with a header, the Flash’s recovery still seemed promising.  Though when the second half ran out, the Pirates took home the treasure of a win, with a final score of 5-0.  Though there’s loss associated with September 11th, the Flash nearly mercy ruled Ballard Memorial at home as Paxton Harned (12) scored 3 out of the 8 goals and Noah Osucha (11) allowed 0.  The result being a hat trick for Harned and a shutout for Osucha.  On September 13th, it was senior night for Lone Oak and both the girls and boys faced Reidland.  Though their first swing at the Hound Dogs turned out to be a miss, the Flash surely redeemed themselves on their home field with the ultimate score being 4 to 0. Harned assisting 3 out of the 4 and Colin Marshall (12) scoring 2, Kirkpatrick (10), Kollenberg (12), and Marshall got the job done.  Heath always being a toughie, LO did succumb to the Pirates conniving ways with the ending score being 0-4.

CCA and St. Mary proved to be an easy win though, with 8-1 and 5-0.

September is ending and this team is definitely awake.  The past month has proven to be an overall success for the LO boys.  As the season winds down in October, just about all soccer fans will be anticipating the ultimate LO Flash turnout.
