The Junior Rotarian for the month of May is Nicole Walker! Nicole combines hard-work, natural intelligence, and congeniality, and is one of the most well-respected members of the senior class. But beneath this sugary sweet exterior lurks a vicious competitor who will do anything it takes to get ahead on the softball field and in the classroom.

Nicole has excelled through all of her high school career. She has been academic all-state in softball since her freshman year, a member of the varsity cross-country team since her sophomore year, and will graduate as the class salutatorian.

Yet in spite of her success, Nicole has always been popular with her fellow students. She was voted Football Homecoming Queen in the fall and was also given the “Most Well-Rounded” senior superlative. In reference to her courtesy, as well as her legendary sickliness, Cameron Byrd states, “On the days when she does come to school, Nicole is always thoughtful and sure to cover her mouth when she coughs.”

Yet Nicole is also exceptional in areas that are not school related. She is a devoted member of the youth group at Lone Oak First Baptist Church, and frequently volunteers around the community.

She will attend Taylor University in the fall and will spend her first semester studying abroad in Ireland. Wherever she goes, Nicole will continue to serve as an example to all those who have the fortune of meeting her.
