Quit complaining. I understand that you’d really enjoy staying in school so that you can continue to hang out with your friends, but you have to go home for the summer. It is much too late to try to fail a class so that you have to go to summer school.  You can’t even do something to get yourself suspended for long enough to fail. Your only hope for not finishing school would be expulsion, but that would defeat the purpose of staying with your friends.

You’re just going to have to try to accept the fact that you’re going on vacation. You’re going to have to go to the beach and relax with your family. You’re going to have to spend a day watching television without ever leaving your house. You’re going to have to have a summer romance. You’re going to have to stay up until 2 a.m. every night. You’re going to have to sleep in a bunch. You might have to mow the lawn, but you’re going to have to do it in beautiful summer weather. You’re going to have to go lounge at the pool. You’re going to have to sleep over with friends. You’re going to have to go to a concert. You’re going to have to have a great summer.

    So just deal with it.

“...have a great summer.”
