So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Despite laughing more than learning, I’ve enjoyed my time at Lone Oak (even French class). I have a lot of people to thank, especially my parents and my teachers.

Mom and Dad: You have been my biggest supporters ever since I got off that elementary school bus all those years ago. You both believed in me, even when I didn’t. Neither of you would ever let me accept the bare minimum, and I thank you both for it.

Mr. Jarvis: You were hilarious last year. I was incredibly lucky to be in one of the last classes you taught. From shoving US Presidents’ pictures in Austin Jones’s face and scaring him to your hatred of Dave Matthews Band, it was always my favorite class of the day.

Ms. Morris: It’s been a crazy year, Chemo. Despite this being your first year, you taught us how to write a well-defined essay and write it well. Not all the books you chose were great (COUGH COUGH Heart of Darkness COUGH), but they taught us how to analyze things like characterization, syntax, and all that jazz. Also, do a kindness to your future classes: Don’t play all that janky music, you hipster.

I have a lot more people to thank, but I’ve taken up too much of your time. All in all, it’s been the greatest four years ever. Here’s to you, Lone Oak. It’s been one heck of a ride.

Here’s looking at you, Lone Oak.
