Hey, Hey, Hey.... Goodbye?

Throughout my four years of high school, I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons, for both education and life. My teachers, parents, and friends have been the major influences of these, and I can’t thank all of them enough:

Mr. Neel,

You have the rare mixture of extreme sarcasm and encouragement. You’ve been a major influence on my taste in music, literature, and movies. I must say I’m going to miss our conversations about Woody Allen and Stanley Kubrick.

Mr. Whitley,

Your Chemistry and AP Chemistry classes were by far the two hardest classes I have ever had to take. While I did learn a lot in each of those classes, I learned above all that being a little weird is a very good thing. You also taught me when to NOT procrastinate, which is a very valuable lesson I can use throughout life.

Ms. Carter,

I can never say enough about our... interesting relationship. You’ve taught me a lot outside of AP Language (where I didn’t learn much) and Newspaper, such as how to quickly come up with clever responses and the loopholes of sexual harassment. You’ve been a major influence on my writing (which is why I’m having difficulty writing this) and my creativity, especially when it comes to asking girls to prom. Also, I hope you like my goodbye to Ms. Morris.

Mr. Jarvis,

The memories of AP US History will live on forever. I’ll never be able to forget the countless times you scared me by shoving pictures of presidents in my face. I have nothing but... warm feelings about that.

Last, but not least, Ms. Morris,

Keila, you’ve definitely been the greatest English teacher of all time. You’ve gotten me a job, and you’ve expanded my taste in Alternative music and books. Our AP Literature class will be simply unforgettable, and I’ve learned so much (unlike my AP Language class last year). I’m definitely going to miss you next year when I’m not in high school.

For all those that I left out, thank you. I don’t know what I could have accomplished if not for the dedicated teachers of Lone Oak High School and their determination to help their students learn.

Godspeed.
