The Kentucky Wildcats have gone undefeated since their loss to Indiana on December 10 of last year. This is no small feat, considering the opponents they have faced recently.

One of Kentucky’s biggest SEC rivals, Tennessee, came to win on January 31 at Rupp Arena. Unfortunately for them, Kentucky won 69-44. Kentucky’s first February game took place on the 4th at South Carolina, with Kentucky winning 86-52. On February 7, Kentucky took on Florida at home, winning 78-58

On February 11, the Cats started running into trouble. That day, Kentucky played Vanderbilt, another big SEC rival, who always brings an exciting game. Vanderbilt played tough, but Kentucky scraped by with a 69-63 victory. Kentucky’s next game was on February 18 against Ole Miss, who beat the Cats last season unexpectedly. This year, Kentucky pulled out the win with a score of 77-62. On February 21, Kentucky played a nail-biter at Mississippi State. After trailing 41-28 at the half, the Cats climbed back up to lead 63-62 with 4:11 left. The Cats finally managed to win 73-64. Kentucky faced Vanderbilt yet again on February 25, this time at home in Lexington. The difference in scores was higher this time, though not by much. Kentucky won again, 83-74.

Kentucky’s last regular season games are on March 1 against Georgia and March 4 at Florida. The SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament will begin on Thursday, March 8, and will be held at the New Orleans Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana. The seeds of each team in the SEC have not yet been announced, though Kentucky is expected to be a top seed. Kentucky also has a very good chance of being the SEC regular season champions. As far as the NCAA tournament goes, Kentucky fans are aching for another national championship this year, and it’s very possible.

Freshmen Anthony Davis and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist have made fantastic debuts this year in the regular season and are expected to continue to excel in the postseason. Standout stars Terrence Jones and Darius Miller are presumed to continue their regular season success in the postseason as well.
