Natalie King, December's Junior Rotarian, is a model student at LOHS and a contributing member of her community.  She works extremely hard in her challenging classes, as well as in her extracurricular activities. This honor student is active in band and FFA. She frequently attends church functions and is working hard toward achieving her dreams.

At school, King has been in FFA for four years and has been an officer for three of them.  This year, King serves as vice president.  She is a state champion for small impromptu speaking and is a national finalist for the job interview section. King's other passion is music, particularly band.  This past marching band season, King was the drum majorette.  Her oboe playing has earned her multiple honors including four years of all-district selection, four years of quad-state band selection, and a nomination to the all-state band. Her musical gifts aren't purely instrumental, King sings with the Crescendos, an all female a cappella singing group. Despite all of the activities that she juggles, she finds the time to maintain a job at the Lone Oak Pharmacy after school and between her other commitments. Natalie is also an active member of the Lone Oak First Baptist Church. She plays in the LOFBC orchestra and is extremely involved in her youth group.

King's peers and teachers think very highly of her, too. “She's a really good person.  She is always so nice to everyone; she'll go out of her way to help others,” says Kelsey Morris (12). “Natalie has been in FFA for four years, and I have seen her grow into a well developed speaker, contest winner, and student,” says Coye Eliot, LOHS agriculture teacher and FFA sponsor.

Natalie wants to take her star student status to the University of Tennessee- Martin. She wants to major in pharmacy and minor in public relations.  Every indication is that she will excel in every aspect of her life! Congratulations, Natalie, for being such an amazing person and successful student, and this month's Junior Rotarian!
