The Lady Flash knew going in to it that the game against Ballard on the 13th would be tough because of their high pressure defense and solid offense thus far in the season.  This statement game would really show the Flash know where they stood.  The game was close up until the 3rd quarter when the Bombers worked up a lead. The Lady Flash cut down the lead with 3 minutes to go but allowed the Bombers to take control again resulting in the first loss for the Lady Flash with a score of 56-46.  Haley Boyd (11) scored 10 points in the game and afterwards said, “We didn't respond to the pressure well. We need to close out games better.”

The game against Reidland on the 9th was nothing other than a confidence booster for the Lady Flash.  As they beat the Greyhounds easily, they got a chance to run their offense, practice defense, and see how well they could put things together without worrying about a big comeback from the Greyhounds. They managed to beat the Greyhounds by 21 without Rachel Englert (12), who was out due to an injury.

The Lady Flash is showing signs of a successful season on both the offensive and defensive sides.  With Haley “The Professor” Boyd (11) leading the offense at the point, sharp shooters Jessica Lawson (11) and Samantha Lawson (11), a strong forward, Kaitlyn Snelling (11) at power forward and Megan Murray (12) holding down the post, this season looks very promising.

Although the team is only 4 games into the season, they have defeated some great teams.  With a record of 3-1 the girls have beat St. Mary, Fulton City, Reidland, and lost to Ballard.   “We are off to a good start, but games over the break will really show us where we are as a team,” said Englert.  Some of the tournaments the Lady Flash will be playing in over the break are the Louisville Western Tournament and the Titans Christmas Clash, which will bring on some great competition from all over the state.

Due to publication deadlines, the game on the 15 against Mayfield will not be covered.  The Lady Flash play Paducah Tilghman on the 17th at home and then will not have another home game until after Christmas break.  The ladies play Marshall County at home on the 3rd.
