The girls soccer team, coached by Jeff Hill, has succeeded with a whopping 16 wins in 21 games this season. Their anticipation is building for the regional tournament. Team goalie Meagan Murray (12) said, “Hopefully we can make it to finals. Our bunch has the drive to make it this season.” Lauren Hobbs (12) was double yellow carded at the game against Saint Marys. This granted her an automatic soft red card which disqualified Hobbs from Tilghman game. She’ll be back on the field playing forward against Marshall during fall break. Hobbs is anticipating regionals with confidence, “This has been the greatest season of my high school career.”
Soccer Captain Ashley Latham says she’s expecting to be in the district tournament, though she’s determined to push the team for redemption after their loss against Tilghman; the score of which was 1-0. Latham feels her team has been encouraged by Jeff Hill to the point of being the strongest it’s ever been.
