After a frustrating start, LOHS football is getting back to the season they expected of themselves. This past Friday night, September 23rd, Lone Oak dominated Calloway County with a win of 56-28.  Gaining 527 yards on the Lakers beat the record for third most in Lone Oak history.

September 16th, the Purple Flash played Reidland, defeating them by 43 points. That night Lone Oak was unstoppable. Zach Perry (11) says, “I think it has been a learning experience going up against much better teams which will help us prepare us for the playoffs and the state championship.”

In the previous game held on September 9th, Christian County was the better team on the field as Lone Oak lost 32-27. It was a well-fought game with great tackles by Payton Harris (12), as well as Conner English (12).

On the evening of September 2nd, Lone Oak’s opponent was Marshall County. The Marshals came to the Graveyard, and Lone Oak scored 26 points to Marshall’s nothing! The Flash left it all on the field.

Lone Oak football has been moving forward after a rocky start and taking on each opponent like it is their last game. The players are looking forward to the rest of the season and are preparing themselves physically and mentally for districts, regionals and the state championship.
