Leave the Blue, Take the Gold

FFA chapter colors are now limited to blue, because Natalie King took the Gold. This Vice President made history on September 10, 2011, when she was announced state champion of the FFA job interview competition. King will be the first Lone Oak High School FFA member to ever compete on a national level. On October 18-21, she will be traveling to Indianapolis to represent Kentucky at the national competition. “It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside like rainbows and unicorns,” King says of her achievement, “but in all seriousness, it’s an incredible honor to represent this high school and state.”
Not only has King taken the trophy for job interview, but she has also racked up a few other titles. She recently won state for small animal impromptu speaking and third in individual agricultural sales. Also taking part in group competitions, King was a member of the agricultural sales team ranked second place at regionals as well as the performing group that took the title of regional champions.
King has been a member of the LOHS FFA chapter for four years and an officer for three. She has been Secretary for two years and is Vice President this year. Other activities King participates in include band, yearbook, and the a cappella group the Crescendos. She has been an All-District oboe player for four years, Quad State player for four years, as well as an All-State Nominee and All-Star Army Band Nominee for one year.
When Natalie isn’t participating in her numerous extracurricular activities, she works at Lone Oak Pharmacy. Given that she will be traveling to Nationals for job interview, it only makes sense that she makes use of her skills in the work force.

it’s an incredible honor
to represent this
high school and state.’”
