The much anticipated Lil Wayne album, Tha Carter IV, was a let-down to Wayne fans across the globe. With the success of the previous Grammy nominated Tha Carter III album, the lofty expectations proved too much for Lil Wayne. It seems as though his disastrous rap-rock album in 2010 Rebirth wasn’t the last failure produced by Wayne. According to LA Weekly, the current album contains 60 of the worst lines of his career such as “Don't **** with Wayne, ‘cause when it Waynes it pours” (“How To Hate”) and “Real G’s move in silence like lasagna” (“Blunt Blowin”). Weezy isn't as impressive as he was five years ago and his recent works have been failures due to a mere casual and somewhat sloppy approach according to Rolling Stone. The creativity, originality and humorous lines that made Tha Carter II and Tha Carter III unforgettable are nonexistent in the recent album. Not even auto tune could save this album. Eric Scelzi (11) says, “I believe Lil Wayne used half of his talent on this album due to his time in the big house...he let me down, but I like the cover- lots of taste. I wish I was that little baby.” As disappointing as the album may be, his two singles “How To Love” and “She Will” are currently ranked in the top 10 of MTV’s Billboard Hot 100.
