Lone Oak golf teams, both boys and girls, have made promising starts to this new season. The top five girls, Anna Hack (9), Halee Spears (12), Ellie Hack (7), Anita Henson (10), and Erika Edwards (11), are leading the team. After defeats to Heath, Tilghman, Reidland, and Caldwell, girls golf is more than ready for a winning streak. In the Madisonville tournament of August 26th, Anna Hack brought home second to her supportive teammates. Edwards claims, "The girls golf team isn't even a team; we are more of a sisterhood."

The boys team consists of Cody Bechtold (12), Sean Murphy (11), Avery Edwards (9), Chip Myers (12), and Zach Rothemeyer (11). Victory in their first three out of four matches including a defeat of Caldwell has the team excited to see what these next few months entail. Bechtold says, "I think we are a whole lot better than last year, and I believe we really have a chance at a state position."

Both Lone Oak golf teams have positive outlooks on this season and are looking forward to their upcoming match on September 6th against CCA and Graves; both boys and girls play at South Highlands in Graves County.
