This year the Lone Oak Boys soccer team is equipped with capable and talented athletes. The boys' season began with tough match ups against worthy adversaries in the form of Marshall County, Ft. Campbell, and Ohio County. Coach Greg Hunter's hard work throughout the summer proved effective in the first battle with Marshall County and the preceding victory over Ft. Campbell. Returning starters - Parker Throgmorton (senior), Corey Adams (senior), Harley Andrews (senior), Paxton Harned (junior), Teddy Kollenburg (junior), Craig Green (senior), and last year's leading goal scorer Colin Marshall (junior) - have led the team to a 3-2 record to start the season.
With Green's return from his ACL injury and Harned's return from his "tweaked knee," the lineup shows promising potential to build on their previous success from last season of playing in the regional final. Team captains Throgmorton and Adams seek success in this year's battle for the regional championship. Harley Andrews says he expects "to win regions and provide an even matchup between rivals Heath and Marshall."
The Lone Oak Boy's soccer team is in action and interested students can experience their talent first hand in the month of September. The link below accesses their full September schedule.
