Sports Program
A late addition to our LOHS collection comes from Kim Helfer Tate and Jessica Richards. Sports was always big at Lone Oak, from the early days of open court basketball to the addition over time of programs for baseball, softball, track and field, football, tennis, golf, soccer and in some years archery and rifle. For the most part, we read about them in the Oak-Ks and have pictures in yearbooks. Lone Oak High School was the first in the county to have an indoor basketball court, cramped as it was. With the addition of a modern 1750 seat gymnasium in 1954, indoor programs grew even more. Lone Oak even had a football field before it had a football team. And a lot more could be told in the story.
For 1992, we have what may have been an annual publication, but at least we have one for this class year. Covering all the available sports programs from the year, listing players, coaches, and schedules, we only have to guess at the enthusiasm it promoted.
Available in PDF format from the link above to individual page images below, we hope you enjoy remembering the excitement of the games for the Class of 92.
