1966 Teacher Pictures
These images were scanned from the wallet size pictures similar to those we had made as students. They were collected from classmates who obtain them from their teachers. Unfortunately it isn't nearly a complete collection, but these are of a higher quality image than those scanned from the annuals.
Of all the teachers we remember, some stand out for reasons individual to each of us. Mrs Zula Edwards could not claim fame as being a favorite among very many LOHS students; plain and simple she was too tough an educator to earn that title. But those who had her undoubtedly learned more about mathematics than from any other class. The pictures below from the 1966 annual show her exactly as she is remembered. She seldomed moved from her desk except to scribble an incomprehensible equation on the blackboard, then return to explain and prompt. While we may never have found an application where "high school algebra could save your life someday," we certainly learned how to use it in Mrs Edwards class. Mrs Edwards retired at the end of the 1965-66 school year.
