Lone Oak High School
Class of 1942 Collection

About This Site

Months after this class entered school as Seniors, the world around them abruptly changed as the United States was attacked at Pearl Harbor beginning the second front of the 2nd World War. Little is mentioned of the war in the 1942 Yearbook although we know from history and conversations that several of the men joined the military soon after graduation. The decoration on each page and especially the Howard D Happy page at the back tell a background story.

We also have selections from the Oak-K Newspaper which add school news and other interesting articles into history. The Class of 42 graduated 34 seniors in early May, down from the 40 Junior enrolled the year before. J.C. Maddox remained as Principal and again little changes were noticible around campus.

We hope you enjoy this trip into history. If you have addition information that is applicable to the Class of 42, please e-mail the site Webmaster. Please provide contact information so that we may reply.
